Siddhartha Raja – World Bank Group, ICT Policy Specialist

Siddhartha Raja is a policy specialist with the World Bank Group’s ICT Practice, a unit of the Transport & ICT Global Practice. He leads the Bank’s engagement on the ICT sector in Afghanistan, Georgia, the Kyrgyz Republic, and Tajikistan on broadband connectivity development, ICT-enabled employment, and on using technology for ubiquitous service delivery. He has worked on Bank projects and engagements across Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and South Asia. Siddhartha coordinates the ICT team’s work on infrastructure sharing and synergies and is active in its research program, having written books or contributed to publications on employment, media convergence, and broadband telecommunications during his time with the World Bank. Mr. Raja has a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications engineering from the University of Bombay, a master’s degree in infrastructure policy studies from Stanford University, has studied media law and policy at the University of Oxford, and has a doctorate in telecommunications policy from the University of Illinois.
