Ian Hawkesworth – OECD, Head of PPPs and Capital Budgeting

Ian Hawkesworth is Head of Public-Private Partnerships and Capital Budgeting at OECD. He is also responsible for the Network of Senior Budget Officials in the Middle East North Africa region and for Sub-Saharan Africa (CABRI). Ian is responsible for analytical work with respect to PPPs and capital procurement and convenes the annual meeting of senior PPP Officials. In this capacity he conducts reviews of PPP governance systems and lead the work culminating in the 2012 OECD Recommendation for Public Governance of Public-Private Partnerships. He also works on issues such as budgeting for performance, financial management and medium term fiscal frameworks. Before joining the OECD Ian worked as Head of Section in the Budget Department of the Ministry of Finance in Denmark. Ian has MScs from the London School of Economics and The University of Copenhagen. He was associate lecturer at the latter for a number of years.
